Build Me a Son

Build me a son, whose heart will be
clear, whose goals will be high,
a son who will master himself before
he seeks to master other men, one who
will learn to laugh, yet never forget to weep,
one who will reach into the future,
yet never forget the past.

The Knox Clan

As of May 2013

For those that aren't familiar with my side of the family or those that haven't seen us in so long you can't tell who's who...

from the left you have my little brother Tim with his family seated in front (Nathan, wife Nicole holding Abigail, and Micah). Mom and dad are next to Tim with mom holding Tim's youngest, Judah. Matt and Megan are in front of dad with their kids (Chloe, Cooper, Colbie and Caleb). Andy and Diana with their kids Tyler and Tiffany and then you have my crew on the right.

It's now August and Tim and Nicole are days away from meeting their newest little one =)

Where to begin...

I know I said this, like, 2 posts ago but...so much has happened! First, I totally didn't mention that my oldest turned 9 back in January. He's such a great kid. Really growing into a responsible young man who I am very proud of.

Katie was next. Turning 6 in May. Such a girly girl. Forget the bats and ball gloves. Give this girl loves anything with sparkle. She loves nail polish, make-up, twirly dresses and jewelry.

Then Levi =) He turned 8 last month. And he's getting so tall. And because of losing a tooth early and having no room for the adult tooth to come in(and I mean NO ROOM) he'll be getting braces next month. They'll stay for about 9 months.

We ended the school year with the decision that we would not re-enroll the kids in public school. Aaron's work schedule is such that he only saw the kids for about 10 minutes before school and on the weekends. Well, that was just not working for us. So, now we're a homeschooling family. We got started about 3 weeks ago and very slowly are getting the hang of things. I have some wonderful friends and a sister-in-law that homeschool and were very open about their journey. I received some great advice to help make the adjustment a little less harsh. It's going very well. I'm really excited to see how our year ends =)

I also ran my 3rd 5k with my brother, Andy. No pics this year. And I did my 2nd Warrior Dash. This year I Dashed with Andy and my nephew Tyler. I do have pictures of that but Aaron put them in a new program I don't know how to get to =/ I knocked 11 minutes off my time from last year and will be going back for more next May. And I'll get pics up when I can find them.

We also had our annual Knox Clan reunion over Memorial Day week. Again...the family pic is in that new photo program. Although, the picture will be missing a tiny person. Tim and Nicole are DAYS from welcoming their 5th. Another boy. I'll share his name after he gets here =)

On Father's Day we celebrated Katie and Levi being baptized!! Aaron's dad did this for us(as he did Ethan) and it was AWE-SOME!

And just because I didn't think I had enough going on...I got a puppy. A mini-dachshund we named Lola. She is a hoot!! She plays so hard and then crashes for a few hours. Sleeps great at night and the kids LOVE her. How cute is she?!?!

So, as you see, we've had our hands full. And it's only just beginning. And right now, I feel so very blessed.
