Nothing

This past month or so has been so busy that I haven't had time to think about anything. Sometime at the begining of May I repainted our kitchen. I then started pulling up the old tile floor. Aaron laid new tile and I helped by keeping the kids out of the way. On the 15th we had both sides over to our house. That came to 16 adults and 15 kids. Aaron's parents gave Katie some new bedding for her b-day. Really cute pink and green bedding. Problem? Everything in her room was red/black/green/cream. Her new bedding matched NOTHING. So that next friday my mom came over and helped me sew 2 new curtains and a bedskirt. I then sewed a cover for the top of her dresser, repainted her letters and the flowers on her dresser to match. And while I had my sewing maching out I put together a bedskirt for Evan's bed and a cover for his dresser. Not to worry, I didn't use the same material for him as I did Katie. On the 22 we purchased my newer truck. It took all day and then we had friends over that night. Levi had his last day of school on the 27th and we started working on our back patio. Our patio is going to be super nice when we're done. Compared to what it was, anyway =) And now?? I'm doing laundry and getting things ready to be packed up for our forced mini-vacay that starts tomorrow. I say forced because it's a family thing and if we didn't have this to go to we wouldn't go anywhere. And in all of this I still get to be a wife and mommy to 4 kids. Anyone else tired?

And it's Memorial Day and I'm remembering my sweet Grandpa, he fought in WWII. He's been gone almost a year and I miss him.

My new ride!!

For the past 4.5 years I have been driving a 1996 Chevy Suburban. I liked my truck. It was big and was able to seat 8 people.
It came in handy for road trips as we were able to take my parents along and that was a HUGE help =) My truck started having some trouble about 2 years ago. Aaron kept saying that we would get it running and then look to upgrade. We are also in the process of paying off our house(we'll write one last check September 2012) so we wanted to hold off on spending a bunch of money. Well, we finally made the decision to put our money where our mouth was. We went looking last Saturday and came home with this....

I LOVE IT!!! And for those that wonder....yes, we paid cash. No car payments for us.

Celebrating Katie

Saturday, May 15, was family day at the Caughern house. I invited both sides ofthe family over to help us celebrate Katie turning 3. It wasn't until everyone was gone and I was thinking back on the day that I realized the 15 was my due date with Katie. I thought that was kinda funny. Here is the day in pictures. ENJOY!!

Rain or shine

Today was 'zoo day' with big E's class. The plan? To go 'rain or shine'. It's been raining all week and the weather people said it was supposed to rain today. I got up this morning and started preparing to be at the zoo in the rain because it was already raining and had been since last night. It was to be a family affair for us. I got our lunches packed and the stroller loaded. I was looking forward to good conversation with a friend that was riding with me. I get a call from the principal a little before 9. No zoo. The zoo had called the school and said most of the animals were going to be inside and some parts of the zoo were going to be shut down so we needed to NOT come. I was relieved. It had been a morning full of thunder and lightening. Maybe E will take a day off from school next week and we'll go to the zoo then.

Levi's end of year program

Levi attends the pre-school at our church. He goes Tue/Thur and LOVES it. I LOVE it =) May 6th was his end of year program. It was so much fun. The kids sang and showed off some art work they had done through out the year and each class had put together a basket to be auctioned off. The baskets were class appropiate. The baby class had a basket full of baby needs...lotion, bath soap, diaper cream. Levi's class(also known as 'the big kids') put together a beach themed basket. It was awesome and I wanted it so bad! It sold for more than $100!!!

Levi with 2 of his good buddies, Ben and Gunner, and his teachers...Ms. Kate and Ms. Molly.

Levi with the artwork he made. The picture is already hanging on the wall, the pot already has a flower in it and the bird feeder is hanging outside.

He titled his painting...T-rex with lizard. Can you see it?

**I apologize about the quality of the video. I was holding Evan and he doesn't sit still.**
But it's still fun to watch. Enjoy!
