Praying for Tripp Littrell
This post is acting as a request for prayer. Tripp was born 3 weeks ago with a heart defect known as transposition of the great vessels. The day after he was born he suffered some seizures and a stroke in the sinus part of his brain. Tests done since have shown that his brain is fixing itself and the damage wasn't as harsh as they had first suspected. Tripp's 2 main arteries were reversed and he had a hard time keeping his oxygen up. They sent him home for a week with O2. He went back to the hospital yesterday morning for open heart surgery to fix the arteries. The doctors were sure he only had ONE coronary artery because for the past 21 days that's all they could find. They did one last scope before they took him to the O.R. just to make sure and still only saw one. However, we serve an awesome God and he knows things we do not. After that tiny chest was opened the surgeon's found BOTH arteries. Miracle number one =) They were able to close 2 holes and switch the arteries. Miracle number two =) Some added work had to be done and what was supposed to be an 8-10 hour surgery ended up being 12 hours. The final report from the surgeon last night was that Tripp looked the best he had all day after they were done. But, the surgeon also said that if Tripp was his baby he would be worried about tonight. The first 24-48 hours are the most crucial. The update this morning, 12 hours post-op, is that Tripp looks good but not considered 'out of the woods' until he goes home. Please pray for this little boy and his parents, Seth and Becca Littrell. They live in Tuscon and all extended family are here in Oklahoma. They do have family that has been staying up there to help in any way. I know his parents welcome ANY prayer that comes their way. If you're on facebook check out Tripp's page(Praying for Tripp Littrell) and become a fan. You'll get updates as they're posted. And if not...check back here. THANKS!
