If I would have known then....

When I first met Aaron he was really into bike riding. He would go out on Monday's, Wednesday's and Saturdays and ride with a group. And he would go out on all the other days(when he wasn't with me) and ride alone. Not long after we started dating Aaron found me a good road bike. You know, the kind with the skinny, smooth tires. The first ride he took me on we rode 17 miles. I thought he was crazy! But that one ride got me hooked. We rode all the time after that. Usually no more than 25 miles but sometimes as much as 40. We had been dating a little over a year when we heard about a bike ride that helped raise money for research on Multiple Sclerosis...MS. It was 150 miles in 2 days. We wanted to do it. It worked out that the wife of one of Aaron's co-workers had been diagnosed with MS a few years back so we rode in her honor. The ride was great! We had so much fun and made so many memories. We participated in the MS150 3 years in a row, and then we became parents. It got a little harder to ride after big E came along. Although we had a bike buggy that Aaron pulled behind his bike. A couple of years ago we both sold our 'good' bikes on ebay. I haven't been on a bike in a long time and I miss it. Anyway, back to my point. We rode for two reasons. First, we loved the challenge of a long bike ride. Second, we were helping people while doing something we enjoyed. Now, fast forward about 8 years.....

This is Megan(me-gan). She is wife to my oldest brother, Matt. I consider her a sister. She is mommy to Chloe and Cooper and baby(due in December). She has MS.

On May 1st a group of people that love her gathered at the OKC Zoo and walked 3 miles in her name.

It was a cloudy and rainy day. But more than 1,700 people were out walking. Supporting someone they love.

The kids did great. They had tons of fun just being with each other. My kids made it thru the entire day without getting into trouble.

They looked at animals.

compared

got cranky

pretended to nap =)

Acted silly

Hung out with Grandpa

Looked cute

rode cheesy rides

When Aaron and I were participating all those years ago I never would have thought that years later I would be participating on behalf of someone in my very own family. If I would have known then what I know now I would have done more then. But I can start now. Doing more, I mean. So a year from now I hope to have more readers and I WILL be asking you for money to support the research needed to help making living a little easier for people like my sister, Megan. In the meantime...start saving ;)
