6 Months!

My baby boy had his 6 month birthday last week. I can't believe it's been 6 months! Evan was an unexpected surprise but maybe the best surprise I've ever had. Someone asked me the other day, as Aaron and I were walking our 4 small children to the car, if we could imagine our life with out Evan. My reply...I can and I don't like it. Evan is such a sweetie. He's mommy's little buddy and I like it like that.

And at 6 months this is what he's doing...

* rolling from front to back and back to front

*pulling up on his hands and knees and is trying to crawl

*he can carry on a conversation with me that only I can understand

*he gives slobbery open-mouth kisses that are just the best

*he chews HARD on anything he gets in his mouth(makes me think he's teething)

*he had his first cracker this week and loved it

*he can sit for a little bit before he topples over


He had his 6 month well-check today and weighed in at 15.12 pounds. Still only in the 20% but that seems to be his curve =)

Just because

I was looking at past video clips we have of the kids and came across this one. It's one of my favorites. Katie was about 16 months old and as cute as can be =) I think it's her hair flapping up and down that makes me laugh. Anyway, enjoy!

My dislike of shopping is getting me in trouble!

I hate shopping for clothes. There, I said it. I'm not really sure why I dislike it so much. I can spend a crazy amount of money on the kids, but when it comes to me I come up empty handed. Like any other woman who's been pregnant, I'm sure, I had nicer more stylish maternity clothes. But, I'm done having babies so it's time to renovate my closet. Aaron has been begging me to go buy new clothes. I went out once and came home with ONE shirt. How sad is that?? He tells me all the time that he thinks he's the only husband in the world that is getting frustrated because his wife will NOT spend money on herself. Aaron informed me the other day that we are going to find a sitter for the kids and he is going to take me shopping. I told him to give me until May 1st.now I have just over a month to do as much damage as I can to get as much of my remaining baby weight off. I'm not going to go crazy with it and I want to do it the smart way. However, I'm feeling a little desperate because it's taking so much lnger this time than with the others. I guess I need to force my self to make time for ME. I have a feeling Jillian Michaels is going to be my new best friend =)Wish me luck!

Back in the swing of things

I went to bed last night with mixed emotions. I was really ready to get back in the swing of things with our schedule of Ethan and Levi going to school and me having my appointments here and there. I also really didn't want to have to get up and get Ethan ready and out the door by 7:30. The kids were just starting to sleep later than 6:30 and I was enjoying the extra time in bed.

Well, this morning came whether I wanted it to or not. Aaron got up and out of bed at 5:30, I was feeding Evan. I wasn't worried about getting up in time to take care of Ethan. The next thing I knew the clock by my bed said it was 7:24. Holy Cow!!! I got up, got Ethan up, helped him get dressed, got his back-pack together and got him out the door and to the neighbors at 7:31. It's a good thing he can eat breakfast at school.

Tomorrow will be better.

kidism

The kids put in a Curious George movie yesterday. A preview for Evan Almighty is at the beginning. Katie sees Steve Carell and says this...

"That's not George! That's Michael Scott!!"

This is my question...What almost 3 yr.old should know who Michael Scott is? Think we watch too much of The Office?

A little more bragging!

My man plays the sax.
I think he's pretty good.
He plays everyday.
Sometimes I wish he would do something besides THAT.
And then he does this.





And I could listen to him play ALL. THE. TIME.
There's just something about hearing him play.
I feel so proud it's all I can do to not stand up
and shout to the world...THAT'S MY MAN!!

The case of the missing medicine

Katie was diagnosed with a double ear infection on Tuesday, the 9th. We got 2 bottles of antibiotics and started right away. This morning when I woke up all the kids were already out of bed. I went to the fridge to get Katie's meds out and the bottle was GONE. I asked Katie where it was and she said...Don't know. HUH. Well, after making all three of the big kids look for about 30 minutes(Aaron and I looked everywhere) we still couldn't find it. We put in a call to the doc and they called in a refill. Hours later and we still have no idea where that bottle of amoxicillin is. How is it that an almost 3 year old can hide something so well she can't find it. I know we'll probably find it in a week or so.
